Key Stage 4 and 5 Accreditation

At the Beacon, our vision has always extended beyond qualifications alone.

Whilst accreditation and outcomes remain important, our ultimate aim is to ensure every young person leaves us ready to thrive, contribute positively to their community and live the fullest life possible.

Our Five Strand Curriculum and our Core Offer (See image), aim to develop not only academic knowledge but also the confidence, independence and practical skills required in adulthood.

At The Beacon , we believe that this document demonstrates that our curriculum is broad, balanced and inclusive, providing pupils with a wide range of academic, vocational, creative, physical and life-skills opportunities tailored to their individual needs and starting points.

Pathways range from Entry Level through to Level 2 qualifications across a variety of subjects within our Five Strand Curriculum. Alongside qualifications, the curriculum develops communication, independence, numeracy, technology, physical and sensory skills, with personalised pathways and adapted provision ensuring that every pupil is supported to make progress, develop their strengths and achieve their maximum potential.

At Key Stage 4 and 5 we offer a range of courses to meet the needs of our students. These can be found below.  In addition to the statutory subjects, we also do the Arts Award which includes Music, Art and Performing Arts plus Young Leader and Sports Leader.
