Wingham Class
This week, Wingham Class have been busy creating Easter cards! Our activity focused on process‑based art, which helps pupils develop a range of important motor skills, such as by squeezing and using forks to spread paint to create their Easter chicks. They also practised early maths skills by counting how many eyes each chick needed and worked hard on their writing and spelling skills to add messages inside their cards.

Canterbury Class
This term in Digital technology Canterbury class have been exploring core computer concepts by coding and making practical projects, such as step counters, nightlights, and games with the BBC Micro:Bit (a pocket sized programmable mini controller), its fair to say the Micro:bit has been a big hit with the pupils.
Barbados Class
On Tuesday Barbados Class attended the 'Rolling, Spilling, Wobbling, Moving...' workshop at the Block 67 / Glassworks studio in Folkestone.
The pupils looked at Cause and Effect and works inspired by the artist William Heath Robinson. They then designed and made their own marble runs. The children had a wonderful time and demonstrated great teamwork and problem solving skills.
Ripple Class
Ripple Class has had a very interesting term learning all about the importance of Easter to Christians. Starting with Shrove Tuesday we had fun tossing pancakes. Then we moved on to Ash Wednesday where we learnt that some Christians have a cross drawn on their foreheads made from the ashes of the previous year's Palm Sunday crosses. We used chalk powder to create a similar effect. We learnt about the bread and wine at the Last Supper, at the end of which Jesus washed his disciples' (friends') feet. We had a go at this.
This week we learnt about Good Friday and tried a hot cross bun. YUM! Next week we are going to be growing cress: this links in with our science topic on 'Plants and Growing', and also to our 'Talk for Writing Book' Tiny Seed, because we'll be making a living Easter Garden.
Sholden Class
This term Sholden class's topic is 'My colourful world'. We have been exploring colour in a variety of ways. The pupils enjoyed using water spray bottles to decorate a sheet and see how the colours mixed and changed.
We have also made shortbread biscuits in cooking and extending our Maths learning about big and small by experimenting which ball would fit down our ramps in the garden. 
Haiti Class
Haiti class successfully prepared and cooked a nutritious meal of chicken and vegetables with rice during their recent food technology lesson. The pupils took charge of preparing all the ingredients before skillfully cooking them into a healthy and delicious meal.

Three Hills Sports Park
"The Zone 3 sports coaches had the pleasure of attending the Three Hills Sports Park today to participate in a range of inclusive sports activities alongside young people from other local secondary schools as well as from Folkestone College. They had a great time as ever, making the most of the opportunity to represent their school with pride"

Frampton Farm
Pupils from St Kitts class thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Frampton Farm, linked to their themed learning, seeing a variety of cows, alpacas, pigs, goats and sheep. They had the opportunity to feed the animals, stroke them, and saw two lambs who were only a few hours old. A great morning was had by all!

KS4 Footballers
Seven of our KS4 footballers had the privilege of representing the school at a charity funded football competition held at Maidstone United's Gallagher Stadium on Monday 2nd March.
Their representation of the school was faultless and it was an absolute pleasure to watch them play so cohesively with one another.

6th Form Council Visit
Last week one of our 6th form classes had an exciting and inspiring visit to Folkestone and Hythe District Council. They explored what the council does, discovered the many different job roles within the council, were given a tour of the building and had the opportunity to ask questions about their local area. A huge thank you to the council team for welcoming us and answering all of our questions.
